The Apple Festival was a lot of fun - and the weather was great. We let the older guy play some games, he was amazed by the guy on stilts, we shared an apple crisp and a lemon ice. Our older guy did some sand art and then we went on a horse drawn carriage ride before heading out. It was a lot of fun - we usually do more fall festivals than we have been able to do so far this year - we have just been so busy so we wanted to take time out of all the other things that we had to do this weekend to spend some time outside with the boys.
On Sunday we had the baby's Christening...Finally - we have been trying to plan it for what seems like forever. He looked adorable and was so well behaved. I think he likes being the center of attention. I was so happy to find out that we were the only family - the Deacon who did the Baptism was wonderful and made everything so personal for us. The Deacon had all of the children under 10 come up to help him bless the water to make it Holy Water and let the big brother blow out the candle that they lit for part of the blessing. The kids felt so special to be able to be a part of it. We had about 30 people attend it was perfect. Everyone came back to my parents house (because I can't fit 30 people in my house comfortably) and we had appetizers and dinner. Two of my cousins brought there babies so out little man loved having other little ones to play with. I have 3 cousins under the age of 9 too, so that kept our older guy busy. We had a great meal....partially catered, partially made by my husband with sides from my mom, my grandfather and my husbands granmother - I love our family they always bring things when we are having a party and it makes things so much easier.
We decided to buy the cake...for birthday's my husband usually makes it, but for this we decided to buy one. We got it at Sam's Club (have you ever gotten a cake there? we have had really good experiences there and it is really cheap) I am so glad that we decided to go that route...just one less thing to have to think about.
We had an amazing weekend...unfortunately it ended with me going to the doctor on Monday for a sinus infection :(
