Another one of my Pinterest finds was a list of things of 100 things to do this summer. The original post is here.
I want to see how many items we can check off as a family and we are making some good progress.
Here is what we have accomplished so far:
1.) We have been to the beach
2.) The boys went to the zoo (with my mom and some cousins)
3.) Blowing bubbles (of course this has been done more than once)
4.) We made lemonade a couple of weeks ago for the boys to sell at out Tag Sale (yard sale, garage sale)
5.) We have been swimming, almost every day
6.) We have had a cookout
7.) We have gone hiking - we planned to hike a lot more this summer but my husband has been laid up with a broken ankle
8.) We saw a planetarium show last weekend at the local discovery museum
9.) We have visited a few farms (for fruit picking) but plan to visit the animal farm too
10.) Sidewalk chalk, another item that has been done more than once
11.) We have had a picnic
12.) We went to the July 4th fireworks
13.) Game night
14.) Play dough
15.) My older son went to a magic show with camp
16.) Riding bikes is a daily activity, even if it is just in the driveway
17.) My husband, myself and our younger son we to the local farmers market
18.) Movie Night
19.) We have played in the sprinkler (and on the slip and slide)
20.) Visit Grandparents (and great grandparents) this happens many times each week
21.) Breakfast for dinner - my kids love it
22.) Flashcards - we have been working with the little guy who will be starting preschool in the fall
23.) Block towers are also a very common event in our home
24.) Make pizza, usually occurs along with movie night
25.) Service project: My 7 year old does collections for donations to the "army men" he and my mom dropped off a ton of stuff last week
So at 25 of 100 items completed we are only a quarter of the way there. We still have a lot more summer fun to come.

On a Pinterest kick today...
So I, like many others out there constantly pin all of these ideas that I think sound so great.....but I never get around to trying them. So I decided it is now time to start trying some of those pins that sound so interesting when I am sitting in front of my computer.
My microwave needed a cleaning VERY badly...so bad that I wouldn't take a picture to include in the post. I went to my trusty pinterest page for my microwave cleaning tips. Here is the original post. Here is what I did - I took I microwave safe bowl and put some water in the bowl with a little bit of vinegar. I turned the microwave on for about 4 minutes annd then let it sit in there for another minute or so. I opened the microwave took a dry rag and wiped it down and about one minute later I had a sparkling clean microwave.
Now onto Pinterest activity two....a Chalkboard Refrigerator. I got a couple of cans of chalkboard spray paint a few weeks ago with the intent of starting this project sooner, but I have been super busy at work so we just got around to it today (and when I say we I mean my husband). We took the handles off the refigerator and started spraying. Make sure to open windows, doors, etc...the fumes are really bad. My refrigerator is currently half painted with chalkboard paint and will be finished tomorrow. The kids are going to love it - I am so excited. Here is the original chalkboard refrigerator post.
Now onto planning some more pinterest projects for the weekend!!!
